How to communicate with my deaf dog

Ivor is a deaf terrier who at 10 months has finally found happiness and a new home after learning sign language.

Despite her adorable face and the tenderness she gives off, Ivor was rejected by 5 owners in their first months of life. In their homes they did not understand or did not want to understand the needs of this puppy who was born deaf.

Its fifth owners handed it over to the RSPC Center in Halifax (located north of Liverpool, in West Yorkshire), a society dedicated to the prevention of animal cruelty to overcome the problems of trust caused by so many rejections.

In the center they immediately understood the problem of Ivor and began to work with him a process to understand the slogans through sign language instead of using voice commands. That way, in several weeks, Ivor regained confidence and vitality.

When he had been training for several weeks, Ivor met Ellie Bromilow, a woman who fell in love with him as soon as he saw him and who was not worried about his deafness. "In the center they had taught him the orders to sit and come, but now he knows others like" lie down "or" still "and we are learning new ones," he explained to Express.

For her, Ivor's deafness is no problem. “Having a deaf dog is like having a dog that hears,” although he acknowledges that he can't help talking to him even though he doesn't hear him.

Ivor's hearing impairment has made other of his senses sharpen, such as smell, something Ellie takes advantage of for the games he does with it. "We hide many objects and goodies around the house so you can find them."

In the center that led to the recovery of Ivor defend the puppy and his goodness. They explain that having a deaf dog can be a challenge since sometimes they "bark a lot" to try to communicate, but "they can adapt very well." In Ellie's case the tuning seems perfect.

The distance is very hard and the shootings, such as "Avengers: Infinity War", make actors like Chris Evans stay away from his family and friends for days. Among the latter, there is one whose wait has been very long. This is his dog Dodger, whom the actor adopted two years ago and who has become an inseparable adventure companion.

The first day of school can be very stressful for children, especially if they start going to school alone and are not familiar with the journey. That's why it's perfectly normal for something to go wrong, from falling asleep to sitting at the wrong bus stop and being late.

When we talk about dogs, we talk about the pet par excellence. For many people they become like another member of their family or, worth the topic, the best friend a man can have. And it is not for less, they are affectionate, adorable and very intelligent.
